Partner hospitals & schools

Our hospital & education partners in Ghana.

The exchange only works because of the institutions that lead it. These are the hospitals and schools whose clinicians and teachers host, supervise and teach our students in Cape Coast — partners in a dignified, mutual exchange.

Cape Coast Teaching Hospital

The regional referral and teaching hospital, and the base of program lead Dr Ernest K. Ainooson. Most rotations anchor here, with a broad case mix across medicine, surgery, paediatrics and maternal health, and clinicians experienced in teaching visiting students within their scope and under supervision.

Here students join ward rounds, observe in theatre and follow cases from admission through care, always shadowing a named clinician who decides what is appropriate for each visitor's level. It is the main home of our clinical rotations, and the supervision principles set here run through every part of the program.

Inclusion partner

Cape Coast School for the Deaf and Blind

At the heart of our inclusion work. Deaf and blind students and their teachers lead a genuine skills exchange — teaching, learning sign, and showing how care that includes everyone is simply better care.

Time here is led by the school: students learn basic sign, take part in lessons and reflect on how clinics can serve deaf and blind patients better. It is the partnership that most clearly shows the mutual, dignified exchange at the centre of the program.
